Hi Court Watch LA friend! In the interest of being as clear as possible about what we do with our data, here’s a quick breakdown. This is also the email you’ll receive from our staff if you issue a data request, so please read this before doing so, and if you still have specific questions, you can use the form on our Legal Hub to contact us.
- Our analytics gathering includes a general overview of visitor behavior, such as referring links and traffic sources, pages visited, and number of visitors overall. However, we do not track or keep information about individual users.
- The exception to this applies to Court Watchers, for whom we store form uploads and identifying information unless a user deletion is requested, in which case, we reassign the form data to a general user account.
- Any identifying data, such as IP addresses from which the site was accessed, is purged automatically every 30 days;
- We do not track you across websites;
- Any form on the site where you enter your email address will store that form submission on a secure server, and your email will be added to our email list. You may unsubscribe from the email list at any time by using the links in the email or directly contacting sitemanager[at]courtwatchla.org.
- Other than the two exceptions listed above, we do not store any of your personal data.
